So today I am sharing with you 10 ways in which you can keep your dog cool in this heat.
- Cooling Blankets or wet towels for the to lie on.
- Add ice cubes to their water bowls
- Set up a small paddling pool of water, they will love jumping in it.
- Set up shaded areas in the house and garden for them to go to.
- Take a collasible water dish out on walks to keep them hydrated.
- Try replace their dry food for wet food to add extra water to their diet.
- If you are going for walks try not to walk on hot pavements or kit your dog out with some booties to protect their soles.
- Again if you are going for walks, go very early in the morning and late at night so it is cooler outside and the floor isn't hot.
- Try making some homemade frozen treats out of peanut butter and fruit. There are so many recipes online for this including the one below.
- If your dog is long haired make sure they have a cut every couple of months or when it starts to get a bit long again.

Mix PB and water to make it thinner and add your chosen fruit. BE CAREFUL!!! Dogs cannot have certain fruits. They can have apples, bananas, blueberries and starwberries, these are popular ones which are safe to use. Please check online if you are unsure. Better to be safe than sorry!
