January Glossybox Unboxing 2018
Hey guys, this week’s blog post
is going to be a glossy box unboxing.
I have been getting glossy boxes for
about two years and I cannot recommend them enough. They are great and such excellent
value for money. Also, if you create an account and create your beauty profile
by filling out your details about your skin type and colour and concerns, your hair colour, if it's dyed type
of hair, then they tailor the
products inside to you. So, say one month is an eyebrow product, then they will
give you a colour that will suit your hair, so it matches. Its great as you
feel they haven't just given you a beauty box like everyone else, it is a
little more personal.
This month is all about hitting the reset button and giving ourselves me
time and putting self-care at the top of our priority.
So, this month 4 out of 5 of the products are full sized.
Beauty Beneath Supplements from
Boots (this is full sized)
Beauty Supplements are something that I have never tried but I am
intrigued to see what these will do. It says on the card "The Beauty Beneath formula from scientist at
Boots consists of two soft gel capsules taken
daily, each packed with a complex of 19 nutrients essential for healthy,
glowing skin. These nutrients work to boost your own collagen production,
fading fine lines and wrinkles while leaving your skin softer than ever.".
I am all up for something that will make me look younger for longer,
even though I am still only 19, especially if
they are all natural and aren't going to mean plastic surgery.
Also, it says that it can take around 4 weeks to see a difference, so I
will wait that long before telling you if I see a difference.
For 4 weeks’ worth of supplements cost £39.99.
To be honest I don't really think I want to pay this every month
considering that's more than I pay for all my skincare together and I already
see results from what I am already using.
DISCLAIMER AND WARNING: This product is suitable for pescatarians but NOT suitable for
vegetarians or vegans due to the fish oil, beef gelatine, marine collagen.
Green Tea Primer by Evelyn Iona
Cosmetics (full sized)
I love trying new primers and I get so excited when glossy box put one in.
The card says "A good primer is essential for flawless,
long-lasting make-up, which is why we're so smitten with this. Packed
with moistening ingredients including avocado oil
and grown tea extract, it'll nourish and protect your complexion, reduce the appearance of fine lines and large pores,
and help your makeup stay put for longer"
This product retails at £22 and is available from evelyniona.com. This is an excellent product for
people who are looking for cruelty free
Vegan products that are still good for their skin. AND it's paraben free too!
I liked this at first test, its creamy but not too sticky and sinks into
the skin really nice. But a little goes a long way so bare that in mind when
using.
Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil Travel Size from
Dr Botanicals
Glossy box has featured a
few facial oils last year and to be honest I really didn't want another one and
was disappointed to find out
there would be another in this month’s box. But this is a good facial oil by an
amazing company and I am so
happy to be testing it out as this company has been raved about online.
The card says "this gorgeous facial oil is packed full of skin enriching
minerals and vitamins, which all
work together to rejuvenate, renew and protect your
complexion. Moroccan rose is a
potent source of vitamins A and C, plus antioxidants essential for
protecting against free radicals.
Pop three drops onto your fingertips and gently press into your skin, keeping
it feeling hydrated and supple all
day long."
I didn't think I was going to like facial oils
because I hate my skin having the slightest trace
of oil on it, but this just sinks into your skin straight away and even makes
it look matte, which doesn't make sense to me. I haven’t seen any benefits yet, but I have only used it once,
but first impressions are
good. It does have a lingering smell but is not too much or strong, so you can
deal with it.
This is also Vegan friendly.
A full-size bottle retails at £55 for 30ml (£35.90
for travel size of 15ml)
Nail and
Cuticle Energizer from Nail
Medic
Yes, finally something
for my poor nails.
the card says "If your nails need some serious
TLC, this reparative oil is
just what you need. delicious
blend of vitamins, plant extracts, revitalising eucalyptus
and soothing lavender, it gets to work on brittle nails, split cuticles and dry skin. Just massage
a few drops into your nail bed and cuticles, for instant hydration and stronger nails!"
I haven't tried this yet, but I am excited as I
always have brittle nails that split and awful cuticles and it's because I don't know how to take care of
them. Hopefully this will help.
This is not tested on
animals.
This retails at £5.99 at prettywomannyc.com
Cream Blush by Apicia (full size)
I am not the best person with cream blushes, I
don't know what I do wrong but whenever I use them it just doesn't look good, but I am always
trying to practice and get
it looking good.
The card says "if you're new to cream blush,
this couldn't be a better introduction. As with all Apicia products, it is rich in organic
bee pollen to nourish skin. For a subtle flush of colour, dab it on slowly and
blend in, building up the colour as you need. A deep honey pink, this hue suits
all skin tones"
I can agree with the colour it is beautiful, but
when I swatched it on the back
of my hand it was patchy but again I am just going to have to keep trying and
looking at what will make it better.
This retails for £22. The applicator is
nice and is easy to clean. I am excited to see how I can use this.
Okay guys, I will be back to review each product at
the end of January to give it a fair honest review.
Have you had this month’s glossy box? Have you
tried any of the products? What were your thoughts?
Happy Blogging,
Sophie May
