Recent Make-up Buys First Impressions

Hey guys, I recently went on a little shopping spree and I thought I would share my first impressions with you guys. I am going to go in order of how I put them on.

First is the porefessional from benefit. I love benefit make-up and I've had this before. Its lightweight, easy to blend into skin, not oily. I have dry skin and i have never had a problem with this. It definitely does what it says on the tin.

Next is the revlon colourstay concealer in 01 Fair. I have never tried this concealer and I only picked it up as the collection area didn't have Fair left. So I got this. I love Revlon as a brand. They're lipsticks are amazing so I'm quiet interested to try this out (If I can get into the packageing). On boots.com it says 'time realease technology balances imperfectionsfor a countinuously flaless look for up to 24 hours. Conceales imperfections, blemishes and dark circles. At frist glance the aplicator is really good, its the same as colletion, but the concealor itself is very watery and doesn't seem verey buildable. Ir doesn't cover dark cirles (mine arent even that dark). First impressions are a no.

Next is the collection #BluchAndGlow pallette. In this palette there is one bronze shade, two blush shades and a highlight. The finger swatches for these show that each of them have good pigment and that they are easy to blend. First impressions I like all the colours in this palette but i think the bronzer could be too dark for me, and you could wear them through winter and summer. Putting the bronzer on gave me a sun kissed look, not muddy at all and is a good shade for me. No patches, and very easy to blend. I am going to try the more pink toned blush on my face. This is also very easy to blend. I have to say I don't normally go for blushes this shade but once I put it on I loved it. It isn't in your face, its a nice shade that makes you looked blushed and would be a perfect summer tone. Next is the highlighter. I love a Highlight but I want one that makes me look like im glowing from within not like ive just brushed glittler on my face. this highlight gives a lot of fall out when picking it up with a brush. This hoghlight once on is gorgeous. It gives a nice glow and isn't too in your face. Again, a great highlight for summer.

Next, is the collection define & perfect eyebrow powder. I picked up the wrong shade in this.I picked up 1 blomde. But from a swatch it actually is brown. This shade is perfect for my eyebrows. I like the applicator which is quite differnet. I have only ever used a pencil or an eyebrow brush before. But this applicator makes it so easy to use. The pigment is good, as you can use it lighlty for a lighter payoff. Overall first impressions is good.

Next is the PS workout fix up spray (make up setting spray) from Primark. I haven't tried any Primark make-up before and on my last visit I saw this while looking at gym clothes. I bought this to try out as ive recently started to go to the gym and if this works for the gym i would use it all the time insead of buying a more expensive one from boots. this cost me £2. I strayed two pumps onto my face. It dys quickly and doesnt seem to leave residue on your face like some other setting sprays. I have to be honest i am not a fan of the smell of it but i can live with that if it works.

I have recently picked up 3 different mascaras. First is the Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Waterproff Mascara.the wand of this is straight so its not going to give you a lot of volume but should give you length. The second it Bourjois Volume glamour ultra curl mascara, intense volume & dramatic curl. the wand is curved giving you nice volume. Last but not least is benefit Roller Lash, super-curling & lifting mascara. The wand it curved with small bristles which will give you good volume. Today I'm going to try the Icona Milano waterproof mascara. This does not do anything for my lashes. Doesn't curl, doesn't volumise them. I just lengthens them a little. I will have to get back to you on the waterproof of it.

Again I have picked up quite a few lip products. Firstly, this isn't a lipstick, it's a lipstick sealer. Lipcote, the original lipstick sealer and secret of smudge, feather, fade and kissproof ipsick that lasts. I swatched it over some lipstick on my hand. It smells very chemically like nail vanish remover. It takes a while to dry to. Also, if your wearing a matte lipstick, it will make it a little shiny. After 5 minutes I smudged the swatch and it did smudge.
next is MDMflow lipstick in vamp, matte. this is a dark purple to look at but when swatched its more of a pinky berry shade It seems moisturising for a matte shade.
Next is Hawaiian Tropic lipgloss in Island berry. This has an SPF of 25 and has up to 12 hours moisturisation. It has slight colour to it, smells amazing doesn't seem like it would be sticky.
Next I have two revlon ultra HD matte lipcolor in Passion and Embrace. They have a sweet smell to them which is quiet sickly. Passion is like a true red whereas Embrace is like a pink toned nude. It takes a while for them to go matte and when they do its not matte matte its more demi-matte. The colour payoff is amazing, They're very pigmented and i would say they would last a good few hours. I put Embrace on my lips, he applicator makes it easy to put on, one swipe is pretty much all you need with the colour pay off,

I will right an update tonight to see which ones are a hit or miss,
Have you tried any of these products, what are your thoughts?

Happy Blogging,
Sophie May,
xoxo
