Bridesmaids Tips & Tricks
Hey guys, so my mum
got married on the 24th of this month. This was my second time being
a bridesmaid. Bearing in mind that the first time was for my granddad and I was
about 6. So if you want to know some tips and tricks then carry on reading.
Have a bag
full of essentials.
Okay so I know
bridesmaids don’t carry bags on the day but that doesn’t mean you can’t have
one. So what I did was I had a clutch bag that seemingly went with my dress but
it really doesn’t matter. Normally if you’re having cars to the venue they will
stick around for pictures after the ceremony so you can give it to them or the
photographers. They want this day to go without a hitch just like the bride so
they will do whatever you want as well as the bride. Or if you have a
significant other just give it to them. Now, onto what will be in the bag.
·
Plasters are always a must have. Shoes rubbing,
kids around or the last minute shave of the legs and you’ve cut yourself. Happens
to a lot of people so plasters are a must.
·
Chewing gum or mints. This is quite simply you
just don’t want to have bad breath as you will be speaking to a lot of people
whether or not your related to them.
·
Bobbles and pins. Okay so this maybe just for a
few people but for me by the time the evening disco came around my curls had
fallen and I just wanted to put it up so that it was seemingly more presentable
and also out of my face so I was glad that I had a bobble and so extra grips so
that I could put it up.
·
Small deodorant or perfume. A wedding day is a
long day and depending on the weather you’re going to get warm and you don’t want
sweat patches or to smell so having a small deodorant and a roll on perfume or
one of those small travel sprays is a real must-have.
·
Tissues. Do I need to say more? It’s an emotional
do and you’re going to cry at either the first dance or the father’s speech so
having tissues handy is a good thing.
·
Make up brush and small mascara and lipstick. After
crying your most like going to want to touch up your make up so having these things
handle will just make you feel that little bit more refreshed.
Wear your shoes in
before the day
This is a good idea
as you really don’t want to have blisters or sore feet on the day as you will
be having a lot of photos done and you’re going to be standing around for a
while so wear them in the office or while you’re in the hose doing cleaning or
while you’re watching TV. This will make your feet love you on the day and you
not having to worry if you’re going to hurt in the morning.
Make sure you have well fitting under garments
There is nothing
worse than having a bra that doesn’t fit right under the dress or having pantie
lines showing through. Solution. Just make sure you have nice under garments
for the day. Doesn’t mean you have to buy all new stuff just make sure that the
one pair of pants that fits you the nicest and have no vpl are clean and you
know exactly where to find them on the day as well as knowing where the bra
that doesn’t show through the bridesmaids dress i.e. straps that are too thick
or is strapless or is too high at the back. Make sure it’s not visible and
fits. You don’t want the bride too have to ask if they can Photoshop them out
just make it easier for her.
That’s it for this
blog if you have any questions just leave a comment and I’ll get back to you
Happy blogging,
Sophie May
