January Glossybox Review
Hey guys, this weeks blog post is the review to the Glossybox Unboxing.
I love getting glossy boxes as its something that brings a little joy to the 1st week of the month. It allows me to try new products that I wouldn't necessarliy pick for myself.
This months Glossybox was a bit of a mixed bag, it had both good and bad products in and some products I didn't see any need for.
Beauty Beneath Supplements from Boots (full sized) £39.99
After I used these beauty supplements for half the box I stopped using them. They were not doing what they said on the tin basically, they didn't make my skin glow, fade fine lines or wrinkles or softer than ever. They gave me a lot of break outs and made my skin oily, the opposite of what it was. I wouldn't really buy this again or probably buy any other beauty supplements, I had high hopes for this but it didn't live up to the expectation. For the price of this as well I think I would rather spend my money on skincare that can do the same and more and that I know works well for me.
Green Tea Primer by Evelyn Iona Cosmetics (full sized) £22
Again, this primer didn't work for me when I put it on ontop of mostuirer (put on about 30 minutes befoer) it would ball up and flake off, whcih is really annoying and I had to take it off and start again. I tried again putting it ontop of normal skin (washed about 30 minutes before) but it did the same thing when I went to put my foundation on. It left my make up looking patchy and uneven and eventually I gave up with this priduct, I just could not get it working for me. In the end I gave it to my sister to try. She has a different skin type to me so I thought maybe it could work for a different skin type, but she got the same result.
I won't be buying this prodct as I think it's a waste of money for something that doesn't work.
Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil Travel Size from Dr. Botanicals (£55 for 30ml)
This is my favourite facial oil that gloosybox has given me. It is amazing, it hydrates the skin without making it oily which is somethign I was afraid of. This has given my skin so much help over the last few weeks with the weather being so cold over here in Wales. This has made me not need to use as much moisturiser (I would mousturise my skin when I woke up, half way through the day if I wasn't wearing makeup and in the evening after I washed my face). My first impressions of this oil were good and so far they have continued to do so. I'm not that impressed by the price but as it works so well (and the travel size lasts a while) i would consider buying the larger bottle.
Nail and Cuticle Energizer from Nail Medic (£5.99)
This nail and cuticle oil is amazing, my nails tend to go soft and cracked after I take nail varnish off. This product is really good and for its price its amazing. It leaves no residue on your hands as like the facial oil its just soaked up. It definately does what it says it will and I will be buying this product myself when I use this up. This is now a part of my nail and hand routine.
Cream Blush by Apicia (full size) £22
Like I said in my unboxing, I am not that good at using cream blushes. Again, I did try using this blush many ways but I couldn't get to grips with it. But that isn't this products fault, it just didn't agree with me. The colour is absolutely bautiful and I agree that it would suit many skin tone. The amount you get is good for the price as you only use a small amount each time yoi use this product. Although this product didn't work for me I did give it to my sister to try. She loved it, she uses it all the time. She says it glides perfectly on her skin and it's not patchy at all. I think I need to stay away from cream nlushes as they just don't seem to work for me. But that doesn't mean that if I get one in another glossybox I won't try it.
Although all the roducts in this box didn't work I liked this box, it was full of things that I wouldn't have bought myself and made me try other things.
Happy Blogging,
Sophie May
